Sr. Validation Engineer – Automotive

Job Description

The Sr. Validation Engineer will lead electrical feature validation and verification for specific automotive programs. This role requires coordination with suppliers, systems teams, design release engineers, program management, and manufacturing teams to ensure the successful validation and launch of vehicle systems.

Key Responsibilities

Lead vehicle-level electrical validation across cluster, radio, BCM, telematics, and powertrain systems.
Develop, maintain, and execute Design Verification Plans & Reports (DVP&R).
Perform root cause analysis, manage issue resolution, and track defects.
Define ECU tracking plans, test property commissioning, and validation schedules.
Create / manage program budgets, BOMs, and manpower allocation.
Support HIL, Plywood Buck, and Vehicle Test Property setup and readiness.
Conduct change request reviews, manage validation timing, and support program reviews.
Collaborate across functional areas to ensure timely deliverables, milestone compliance, and vehicle readiness.
Support EMC testing, EOL tester development, and warranty / quality meetings.
Lead and coach validation engineers; identify risks, roadblocks, and corrective actions.

Required Qualifications

BS in Electrical, Automotive, or Computer Engineering (or equivalent).

5+ years of automotive industry experience in electrical systems design, testing, or validation.

Proven project / program management experience in a Scrum / Agile environment.

Hands-on experience developing and managing DVP&R, validation budgets, and test plans.

Proficiency in ECU systems, HIL validation, and vehicle electrical diagnostics.

Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple programs simultaneously.

Demonstrated success in issue management, process improvement, and team coordination.
